A self-confessed webpreneur, developer and social media connoisseur, James Whelton is no stranger to internet endeavour or success. Co-founder of CoderDojo, hacker in residence at Resolute Venture Capital in Boston, social entrepreneur with SOSVentures, CEO of Disruptive Developments, an Ashoka Fellow and the first person to hack the iPod Nano, the list of achievements for the 19 year old are as impressive as they are extensive. While a student at Presentation Brothers College in Cork, Whelton created the Leaving Cert Countdown Timer which won the 2010 Best Web Design Award at the eircom Junior Spiders. He teamed up with angel investor and XING co-founder, Bill Liao to create Cork-based CoderDojo. The dynamic duo have developed CoderDojo in a relatively short space of time, turning it into the global phenomena it has become.
