Best Financial Services eircom Spiders 2O12 award is for a site that will deliver financial related products, services, advice or information. Potential winners of the eircom Spiders Award are expected to provide prospective and current customers with truly impressive levels of customer support.

The eircom Spiders 2O12 award for Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industry, will be for a website that displays innovation and ingenuity in the area of online travel. The site should provide visitors with valuable content, time-saving interactive online booking facilities and a wide range of travel, dining and other tourist related options to the undecided visitor. A demonstration of how nominees have leveraged internet channels and technology to show a return on investment will also be taken into account

The eircom Spiders 2O12 award for Charitable and Non-Profit Organisations will be for those whose websites demonstrate innovation and whose primary purpose is philanthropic worthy causes. Nominees will also be judged on design, content, innovation and media compatibility.

The eircom Spiders 2O12 award for retail excellence is for a website that demonstrates excellence in providing online customer solutions and retail sales of products or services. Online shopping facility is not crucial to this category as the judges are looking for sites that demonstrate innovative retail solutions (pricing, delivery, returns) that expand the business beyond the shop floor, to providing excellence in customer service through online channels.

The e Business eircom Spiders 2O12 award is for exclusively web-based businesses that provide site visitors with an intuitive, user-friendly and viable means of doing business securely online. This category applies to e Business, e Commerce, and B2B and B2C websites and excludes portals. Judges will be looking for innovative tools and processes with a clever use of contextual technologies or an original use of the internet to trade or deliver a service. (No shop front business).

This new category for 2O12, Social Media Interaction, is for any brand, business or company with a social media presence (through for example, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Flickr).

This category rewards truly effective social media presences over a 12 month period.

The 2O12 eircom Spiders award for the Campaign category will by for the best interactive campaign undertaken in the past year by a Digital Agency or Company. The entry can be the digital aspect of a larger communications and marketing campaign, perhaps taking into consideration how it relates to creative, broadcast or offline activity, or an online campaign only. Judging will be based on auditable performance metrics and on how the campaign has used innovative online marketing techniques to meet the objectives of the campaign.

The 2O12 News & Entertainment eircom Spider Award is for an innovative News Media website, developed for the distribution of up-to-date news about any subject which demonstrates an impressive range of multimedia delivery: whether on current affairs, finance, entertainment, arts, sport, or niche topics.

The Web Design and Development Agency 2O12 eircom Spiders award is for an agency who specialise in developments and designing websites for clients. Agencies are judged on creative work that they have completed over the past 12 months. The judges are looking for innovative use of the online environment to execute their website and will be basing their criteria on creativity, development, delivery to brief and overall client experience.

The eircom Spiders 2O12 award for Sports is for innovative Sports websites including teams and clubs which provide site visitors with dynamic, regularly published, fresh content, alongside interactive tools and original ways of publishing user-generated content. Nominees will also be judged on design, content, innovation and media compatibility.

The eircom Spiders 2O12 listings award is for Irish classified websites, (including portals) that provide users with a user-friendly and content-rich experience for finding jobs, property, motors, dates or other products & services. The sites will be either vertically focused (i.e. listing content in just one category such as cars), or horizontally focused (i.e. listing content in multiple categories).

The 2012 Business Choice eircom Spiders Award is for the most beneficial and trusted online resource for businesses in Ireland. Nominees may be a large corporate, government or state body who provide online resources for Irish businesses; or active bloggers, online journalists and social media enthusiasts who are a trusted source in the business community and provide invaluable insights, networking opportunities and updates to Irish businesses. The winner of this category is decided by the business community.

The 2O12 User Experience eircom Spiders award looks to reward best practice in user-centred digital-development to generate cohesive, predictive and desirable designs based on holistic consideration of users’ experience of a website, intranet or App.

The Mobile Application eircom Spiders 2O12 award is for application developers who have created apps for iPhone, Android and Smartphone. This award recognises a company or individual who has excelled within the mobile app space by developing innovative and smart mobile apps with useful context and is used by the mobile user especially where the nominee is deemed to be “first to market”.

The 2O12 Innovative use of Technology in Digital Marketing eircom Spider Award will reward true digital endeavour and innovation: the eircom Spiders want to elevate Irish agencies and brands that are breaking new ground with innovative use of technology in digital marketing.

The eircom Spiders 2O12 Digital Start Up award is for the most innovative website launched in the last twelve months. This could be a business in their first year of operation or an existing website that has been newly designed / developed and re-launched in 2012. The site should be engaging, with innovative mechanisms that encourage interaction from the user.

The eircom Spiders Internet Hero 2O12 will be announced on the night of the awards ceremony. It is the publishers and judges choice and is awarded to an individual who has and is showing continuing outstanding success in the online industry.

The Grand Prix award will be selected from the overall winners of the individual eircom Spiders’ categories in 2O12. Judges will be looking for outstanding levels of achievement in the areas of technology, innovation, functionality & interactivity coupled with a world class user experience. The Grand Prix, the highest accolade of The eircom Spiders will be announced on the night at the awards ceremony.
